We Magnify God

We magnify God,

We see in three persons,

Blessed Trinity.

God the great Creator,

Jesus our Redeemer,

The Holy Spirit,

As our Sustainer.

 

We glorify God,

Who has created all.

From our perspective,

God is omnipresent.

God who is all loving,

Loved us so much that,

To us Christ was sent.

 

We praise Jesus Christ,

Who came down to save us,

From all of our sins,

All because of God's love.

He taught us how to live,

Then sent to us the,

Spirit from above.

To Get to Heaven What Must I Do

“To get to heaven what must I do?”

A man once asked Jesus.

“Keep the commandments God gave you,”

Christ said to him (and us!)

But then added, “There’s one more thing,

Go and sell all you own,

And to the poor give everything.”

The man left sad and alone.

 

Heaven’s hard for the rich to reach,

Too much makes it too much.

Living by faith the Lord did teach,

Requires a simpler touch.

Let go of greed and worldly wealth,

Take hold of the Lord's hand,

And live a life of spiritual health,

Into the promised land.

 

Camels can go through needles’ eyes,

Easier than the rich saved.

Christ then heard the disciples’ cries,

“Then we're all doomed!” they raved.

None of us can be good enough,

Why it's impossible!

But Jesus shared it's not that tough,

For God all's possible.

 

O Lord, We Come to You

O Lord, we come to you,

Asking what we might do,

To spread your love.

May we share your goodwill,

And thus your will fulfill,

For you still guide us still,

From heaven above.

 

God, we do celebrate,

When love overcomes hate,

And peace abides.

May divisions by race,

Your mercy now erase,

Through your amazing grace,

Your love provides.

 

We've struggled in the past,

But struggles cannot last,

Come Before God

Come before God lift everything in prayer,

may you be blessed by everything you share.

But then take time to let God speak to you,

for there are things that God wants you to do.

 

Prayer is a great communication tool,

it goes both ways as a general rule.

Don’t say “Amen,” when you have had your say,

instead let God speak and guide you today.

 

As you lift prayers give God time to reply,

God knows your gifts, on you let God rely.

What if God wants to answer prayers through you?

After your prayers do what God asks you to.

 

Lord, Hear Our Prayer

Lord, hear our prayer. O Lord, now hear our prayer.

We come before you and lay our souls bare.

We confess our sins, our failures, and faults.

Lord, your mercy and grace our prayer exults.

 

There are no words to fully share our praise,

For no matter what you are with us always.

Help us express our thanks to you,

By all we say and our actions too.

 

Help us in prayer to be open to discern.

Teach us, O Lord, that from you we might learn,

How to let go and fully follow you.

We are part of God's love story,

God desires a connection,

To all people who are lost.

Through Christ’s death and resurrection,

At Pentecost the Spirit came,

On disciples gathered there.

They then became apostles,

Going out Good News to share.

They shared their faith with strangers,

Who were out on the street.

They shared Good News with everyone,

All whom they happen to meet.

 

Shared their faith in Jesus,

And all that he had done.

They offered all salvation,

In the name of the Holy One.

In the power of the Spirit,

They overcame all of their fears,

And they passed Good News onto us,

Down the centuries and years.

 

Today we claim the power,

God's Spirit is upon us.

Go out and share the Good News,

And tell all about Jesus.

Share all He has done for you,

And in Him how your life's blessed.

You are loved and you're forgiven,

For God gave the very best.

 

We Give Thanks

We give thanks for all God has done,

And all that God will do.

God has been with us all the way,

And God will see us through.

There have been times when we were lost,

When God showed us the way.

The prophet spoke the word of God,

Some rise to speak today.

 

Take time in prayer listening to God,

We still have much to learn.

When God corrects us, we can change,

Repent and around turn.

May the Lord truly be adored,

We Remember the Saints

We remember the saints,

Who have gone before.

We celebrate their faith,

Mad lives forevermore.

 

They live their lives for Christ,

As examples for us.

That we might live our lives,

Following Jesus.

 

All who would be followers,

Be a saint! Live that way.

Saintly steps are taken,

One by one and day by day.

 

Lay up Your Treasures in Heaven (Matthew 6)

Lay up your treasures in heaven,

Jesus said upon the mount.

Moss and rust cannot destroy,

Your heavenly account.

 

Wherever your treasure is,

Right there your heart is too.

Like Jesus, treasure people,

Ask God what you might do.

 

Instead of hoarding treasures,

Share what you have to share.

God's abundance is shared with you,

So, share it everywhere.

 

What would happen in this world,

If we give rather than take?

How different would this world be then?

When a world of difference we make.

 

What’s in This Great Commandment (Mark 12)

What's in this great commandment,

That Christ gives you and me?

It is not one commandment,

We find that there are three.

 

The first one is to love the Lord,

And go to any length.

God is thus to be adored,

With heart, soul, mind, and strength.

 

Love your neighbor is number two,

And neighbor includes them all.

Act of mercy we're to do,

With all our wherewithal.

 

Number three you must recall,

For it's important too.

After loving God and all,

Remember to love you.

 

When Before the Lord I Come

When before the Lord I come,

In quiet meditation,

My soul is always blessed from,

My prayerful supplication.

 

There is nothing the Lord needs to do,

Nor even speak a word.

I know that I’ve been listened to,

And know my prayer’s been heard.

 

In the quiet I may hear,

God encouraging me,

By whispering in my inner ear,

To be who I might be.

 

Worship the Lord

Worship the Lord with music and joy.

Worship the Lord all your strength employ.

Worship the Lord of amazing grace.

Worship the Lord in every place.

 

Worship the Lord at church or home.

Worship the Lord wherever you roam.

Worship the Lord at day or at night.

Worship the Lord with all of your might.

 

Worship the Lord who created you.

Worship the Lord by what all you do.

Worship the Lord whether here or there.

Worship the Lord everywhere.

 

Worship the Lord in silence and prayer.

Worship the Lord when your soul you bear.

Worship the Lord with shouts of praise.

Worship the Lord all of your days.

 

When There Are Times

When there are times, we can't be there,

We can be there in thought and prayer.

Miles might separate each of us,

But when we get close to Jesus,

Right there we also get close to,

All who come close to Jesus, too.

 

As you lift a prayer for peace,

That all war and conflict cease,

Pray and ask God what you might do,

To let God's love come shining through.

See what the Lord lays on your heart,

When that happens, just play your part.

 

Someone today is lifting a prayer,

Someone struggling deep in despair,

Asking that God might come to their aid,

Hear God calling you. Don't be afraid!

You can be there at the right time and place,

You can extend God's amazing grace.

 

Look at God’s Creation

Look at God's creation,

Both without and within.

With God do some reflection,

Take time to take it in.

 

See the beauty in God's world,

It's everywhere you look.

So often we just miss it,

In those times that weren't took.

 

See the beauty in yourself,

The worst critic is often us,

We miss the beauty God sees,

Through the eyes of Christ Jesus.
