David Faced the Giant

David faced the giant,

Goliath was his name,

To Israel defiant,

Until young David came.

 

Take time to think about it,

What giants do we face?

With God’s help let us commit,

To put them in their place.

 

It’s only in perspective,

That giants seem so large.

But our God is protective,

And always is in charge.

 

So, face your giants boldly,

Using what you have learned.

On the Lord focus fully,

See how the tide has turned.

 

God’s Steadfast Love Endures Forever

God's steadfast love endures forever.

God loves us daily more and more.

Fear not! God will forsake us never,

God is with us forevermore.

 

God's steadfast love endures forever.

Through Jesus we are forever blessed.

God's love for us, nothing will sever.

God sent to us the very best.

 

God's steadfast love endures forever.

Share the Good News every day.

God's for us forever and ever.

Go out and share God's love today.

 

Going out in the World

Going out in the world,

Be sure you are ready.

No matter what is hurled,

May your faith hold steady.

For the Lord gives the strength,

That we need day by day.

So, hold fast to your faith,

Christ’s with you, come what may.

 

To the Lord always pray,

There's no need to be scared.

Christ will show you the way,

And help you be prepared.

And the peace of Christ,

Lord, Listen While We Sing Your Praise

Lord, listen while we sing your praise,

For all you've done for us.

For you have been with us always,

Our Good Shepherd, Jesus.

 

Lord, help us listen when you speak,

And hear what all you say.

May we your wisdom always seek,

For this we truly pray.

 

Lord, help us share what we have heard,

That your kin-dom might grow.

As we proclaim Jesus is Lord,

May others come to know.

 

Lord, When in Life We Are Afraid

Lord, when in life we are afraid,

Be with us there and then.

May your grace and peace be displayed,

Let storms be calmed again.

 

Whenever we have fear and doubt,

That stops us in our tracks,

Remind us what life's all about,

That you have got our backs.

 

Give us the strength to stand the test,

Whenever it may come.

Help us always to do our best,

And may your will be done.

 

When in Times of Uncertainty

When in times of uncertainty,

Unsure of what to do,

Open our eyes that we might see,

O Lord, we ask of you.

 

For there are times we drift away,

And cannot find our way.

With wisdom guide our steps today,

O Lord, to you we pray.

 

Share Jesus with People

Share Jesus with people,

Through the things you do.

When people can't see it,

Give a Christ-like view.

When we're stuck in old ways,

Christ makes all things new.

As Jesus’ disciples,

Do all you can do.

 

Jesus offers peace to,

All humanity,

Sharing divine grace and,

Holy dignity.

When we're overwhelmed by,

Negativity,

We can share Christ’s love and,

Positivity.

 

Putting Our Faith into Action

Putting our faith into action,

We do our part,

Offering the love of Jesus,

From heart to heart.

Go be a blessing,

Make someone's day,

Buy something you do,

Or what you say.

 

Blessings from God the Almighty,

We do receive.

As true disciples of Jesus,

We do believe.

For all the blessings,

We give our praise.

We'll worship God for,

All of our days.

 

Ask for God's guidance and blessing,

For each new day,

That you will go love your neighbors,

And live that way.

To those who struggle,

Offer God's care.

Touch someone's soul as,

God's love you share.

 

In Times That Are Challenging

In times that are challenging,

God's love is spread to all.

As things are developing,

We listen for God's call.

 

How might we be of service,

To neighbors in their needs?

Just share the love of Jesus,

Through all our words and deeds.

 

Though we cannot do it all,

There's something we can do.

If we follow the Lord's call,

The Lord will see us through.

 

A Rainbow Has All Colors

                        Rev. Jeffrey B. Childs 6/22/24

 

The rainbow has all colors,

A variety of hues,

And so do all God's people,

Embodying the Good News.

 

By grace we have discovered,

God's body has many parts.

Though different we can love,

When God's love is in our hearts.

 

Give thanks to God for blessings,

Even when some surprise us.

Strangers can become friends when,

We are connected through Jesus.

 

When Things Are the Darkest

When things are the darkest,

We can lose our way,

But we know we'll be blessed,

When to God we pray.

 

When life's full of problems,

And nothing seems right,

Like the tomb that opens,

Jesus is the light.

 

When we need direction,

Jesus shows the way,

With divine connection,

When we turn to pray.

 

We Come Before Our Savior

We come before our Savior,

With gratitude and praise,

And renew our commitment,

To follow Christ always.

 

We sing the hymns of long ago,

Or praise songs that are new,

To worship god almighty,

And our faith to renew.

Refrain:

 

We humbly come before the Lord,

Our prayer requests we share.

Our confessions we bring to God,

And recite the Lord's Prayer.

Refrain:

 

The sermon speaks to us about,

The scripture that was read.

We’re guided to change our ways to,

How we should live instead.

When I Sit in Meditation

When I sit in meditation,

In my favorite prayer chair,

Lifting to God each supplication,

God is always with me there.

 

I pour out all of my confessions,

Voicing to God all my sins.

In these divine one-on-one sessions,

Knowing with God's grace begins.

 

I bring to God griefs and concerns,

Knowing God will answer all,

For divine answers my poor heart yearns,

For each prayer both great and small.

 

We Come to God Almighty

We come to God almighty,

Lifting up all our prayers,

For we know God is listening,

For we know that God cares.

 

We wait for God with patience,

And we anticipate,

Knowing that God will answer,

Thus we pray while we wait.

 

We listen in the silence,

For God to speak to us,

And share with us God's guidance,

As we follow Jesus.

 

Know that prayer does go both ways,

As a conversation.

So let God speak to your soul,

Divine revelation.
