Christ's body is not there.

Before upon the cross he died.

Upon his lips a profound word,

From the psalmist was clearly heard.

 

Did Jesus think God was not there,

That the God of love did not care?

To think Jesus felt forsaken,

Our faith in God might be shaken.

 

A deeper meaning may be found,

A hopeful message most profound.

Reading to the end of this Psalm,

Uplifts the soul with peace and calm.

On that Friday the sky turned grey,

Clouds blocked out the sunshine.

Upon the cross all seemed like loss.

We felt death on the vine.

As we watched Christ suffer and die,

And heard the words he said,

From the sheer nightmare we were grieved,

As from his wounds he bled.

When it was done and Christ died,

Nothing could heal such grief.

Hope was gone what will we do now,

There Are Times

For those things we anticipate,

Like Thomas We All Have Our Doubts

Like Thomas we all have our doubts,

With fits and starts and cries and shouts.

Faith in Christ our worst fears relieve,

Doubts turn around when we believe.

 

When there are things we cannot see,

We doubt and think, this cannot be.

Were stuck in doubt and can’t conceive,

How life can change when we believe.

 

As you share faith with those who doubt,

And profess what faith’s all about,

Through you what might the Lord achieve,

As you help doubters to believe?

 

We Come before the Lord in Prayer

We come before the Lord in prayer,

All our joys and concerns we share.

We praise the Lord who hears each one,

In this holy conversation.

 

But wait! Don't just finish the call,

Prayers aren't one sided, not at all.

Take the time to let the Lord speak.

God answers prayers to those who seek.

 

Ask what the Lord might have to say,

About how you should live this day,

And for the Lord what you can do,

To help answer a prayer or two.

 

Praise God Who Has Revealed to Us

Praise God who has revealed to us,

True light and life through Christ Jesus.

He is the vine. He is the way.

In him we’re connected today.

 

So, even though through sin we're flawed,

Through Christ we're forgiven by God.

To God with penitence confess,

Then worship God and Christ profess.

 

For by God, we have all been blessed,

With Sabbath days to take our rest.

To reflect on what life's about.

Give to God praise and a shout out!

 

When Peter Saw Christ on the Shore

When Peter saw Christ on the shore,

It changed his life forevermore.

Jesus simply said, “Follow me.”

Peter became who he would be.

 

A disciple who walked the walk,

Learned from Jesus in every talk.

But when the Lord was crucified,

Three times Peter his Lord denied.

 

But this time there upon the shore,

Jesus appeared to him once more.

And when Peter his love professed,

By Christ’s mercy Peter was blessed.

 

The Lord told him to “Feed my sheep.”

A commandment for all to keep.

So, what’s Jesus saying to us,

About how we might love Jesus?
