To go beyond where we've come from,
to be all that we can be.
These saints we celebrate today,
by them our lives are blessed.
With grateful hearts today we pray,

and that only time will tell.

With Thanksgiving we gather ‘round,
A table filled with food.
We lift a prayer with heads bowed down,
And gratefully we thank God
For all the blessings of this year,
Especially on this day.
We ask the Lord our prayer to hear,
As to God we humbly pray.
We thank God for every blessing,
That God bestows on us.
All this we pray on Thanksgiving,
In the name of Jesus.

“Can these bones live?” was asked.
“Only the Almighty can tell.”
What can happen when we're tasked?
As the prophet spoke to the bones,
Without ears they did hear.
Behold in God's construction zones,
By God new life can appear.
For those of us who are half dead,
We've had our time of rest.
Hear what the spirit said,
And rise up for you've been blessed.
We celebrate what God can do.
The Lord's word can revive.
The Lord of life breathes life in you,
Rise up now and come alive!

God unto
Satan said.
“Yes, but
what if I prod and probe,
Causing pain
from toe to head?”
Thus began
the wisdom story,
Of why bad
things happen.
Given God
and all God's glory,
What is the
cause of our pain?
Job wondered
and while his friends spoke,
Job cried to
God, “why me?”
Why does bad
happen to good folk?
Answer this,
my heartfelt plea.
God spoke to
Job and speaks to us,
That we
might come to see.
Life is not
fair. Don’t make a fuss!
God cares
for us care-fully.

For all of those who've served.

All for the greater good.

All of those who did not return,
That they may rest in peace.
For those who have returned to us,
Many with battle scars,

Did you get all that you wanted?
Did you even get more?
Christmas can be overdone,
With gift-giving galore.
When Jesus was born long ago,
We remember the magi.
They brought presents fit for a king,
A king who would reign on high.
That threw Herod into a rage,
Which had a consequence.
At Christmas, such a tragedy,
Murdering the innocents.
Mary and Joseph had to flee,
To Egypt with Jesus.
From evil intent he was saved,
Like the young boy Moses.
With all the bad throughout the world,
How might we, our gifts, view?
Like Joseph and Mary back then,
What for Jesus might we do?
For All Who Believe, Jesus Is King

For all who believe, Jesus is king.
We come to bring our praise.
With grateful hearts we calm and sing.
We worship God always.
Daily in our hearts Jesus rules,
And guides us on the way.
Christ gives to us the needed tools,
For our ministry today.
We are the body. Christ's the head,
Who wisely commands us.
By the Lord's majesty we're led.

Here where a feast is set.
Give thanks to God with heart and soul,
Give thanks for all needs met.
Some of us live in poverty.
It's hard to make ends meet.
But in the midst of scarcity
Let us share food to eat.
Through times of great difficulty,
We've sat there with the least.
But now and for eternity,
May we share your heavenly feast.
In this world that God's given us,
May wars and fighting cease.
And in the name of Christ Jesus,

And we must be aware.

Show others that they might learn how,
To be ready without a doubt.
The writers of the divine word,
